Played a bit of Phantasy Star Portable Phantasy Star Zero
Rented for xbox, my nephew conquer it while my sister watched, I however was in another room most of the time playing guild wars, I turned into a huge computer gamer. Which is a point that transforms into the server that is glorious. Until I discovered they made servers, we experienced pso online. Thankfully I knowledgeable enough to get my nephew playing was made by my tens of thousands of hours of pc use. People were so fine in that server or whatever it was called. We were given items by veterans to power throughout Phantasy Star Online 2. We got around lvl 140, which everyone knows is a lot of work but we finally ceased considering it was league of losers' age. Other new and games consoles caught our attention. But my god, these were good times. I did have some weeks of gameplay in jp servers for PSO2 near launch but I stopped finally. I eagerly wait for NA launch on PC.
Played with PSO on Dreamcast from launch day until the launching of v2, then switched when that launched, to Episode 1 & 2 on GameCube. Played those versions HEAVILY. School vacations especially ended up turning to all day/nighters. Tried a bit of the Xbox port. I do not recall too well, just that I ran out of things to do and only played. Didn't end up continuing with that match, I actually ended up disliking the item crafting and enhancing system there.
Played a bit of Phantasy Star Portable Phantasy Star Zero, and PSP2. Loved PSP2. Messed around with playing PSOBB servers, but never enough to invest a lot of time into playing. Assumed PSO2 English launch was totally lifeless, forgot about it, then continued to lose my absolute shit when last year's E3 announcement popped up. Had a whole lot of fun attempting Phantasy Star Online 2 and intend to play more when it starts.
PSO was pretty special overall to me personally. It helped me bond and stay in contact with a long-distance relationship I had at the time (we are married with a family now!), and I met with a lot of friends that I talk to for this day. I even ran into and reconnected with someone I used to play with frequently on DC/GC by complete chance during the PSO2 closed beta. Pretty hyped to jump back in, I will have a main named Zingela, as I have had on each version of Phantasy Star Online 2!
Phantasy Star made its impression on me way back with PS2, or rather even reading about it though I began playing in PSU. I was a Nintendo kid, didn't have a Sega, but one of the gaming mags at the time needed a very spoilery strategy manual and I guess that"that" occurring really threw me for a loop. Most of my RPGing are Final Fantasy and Zelda and whatnot, but it's remained with me to this day. Although I have I didn't get into PSO unfortunately. I did play PSU for much of its life. I regret that I didn't get past like level 80, but I at least found a Psycho Wand plank or two before I stopped. I did play just a tiny PSO2 back when it came out and needed to do it the hard way.
